We get the full picture — your young adult, you, and how the household is working.
If your child is struggling to leave home, hold a job or stay in school, withdrawing into screens or isolation, and the whole house feels the strain — that’s Failure to Launch, and it’s far more common than you’d think. I work in the home with your young adult and your whole family to untie what’s stuck and get them moving toward independence — a calmer, lower-cost alternative to sending them away.
It’s fixable— and I’ve helped hundreds of families do it.

Parents call me from all over the USA — a grown kid stalled at home, the whole house upside-down, each sure their situation is the hardest one I’ve seen.
But when I sit down with these young adults, almost every one quietly admits the same thing —
“I don’t want to be stuck anymore.”
Under the screens and the silence, most of them aren’t happy being stuck — they just can’t see the way out. Put a doable path in front of them, and things finally start to move.
Here’s what’s really going onThis isn’t about a kid who’s lazy or lacks discipline. The real source is the huge shift we call the Digital Age — the emotional skills most of today’s adults picked up by osmosis simply weren’t passed on to this generation, so they arrive at adulthood unprepared.
And the most important thing to know: most of these young people aren’t happy being stuck either — they just can’t see the way out. When a doable path is finally put in front of them, families are relieved and motivated.
It’s no one’s fault. And there is a way out.
Most stuck kids aren’t happy being stuck — they just can’t see the exit yet. Show them a doable path, and things start to move.
What makes my program different is that I don’t work with your child in isolation.
Failure to Launch is a family situation, so the whole family is part of the solution. It’s a “wrap-around” approach built on Multisystemic Therapy: together we untie the communication knots, shift the family dynamics, and break the log jam. I create an empathic, judgment-free space for everyone — and the work is structured, with real milestones and steady, incremental change, so it actually lasts.

A written plan everyone signs onto — including your young adult.
Steady, incremental change, worked in the home where life actually happens.
The right support around you, so the progress continues after I step back.
Underneath it is the same approach I’ve refined over 46 years: helping your young adult beat Outcome Fever — the modern habit of judging yourself only by achievements and how you look — and rebuild the real emotional skills and confidence that let a person stand on their own.

“I’ve shared several challenging cases with Jeff — kids who are stuck or using substances. His two-day, in-home intensive engages the whole family, and he gets results where other modalities aren’t successful. He has an uncanny ability to connect with people. I highly recommend him.”
The work can begin in person (my preference) or by phone and video, and a Family Intensive can anchor it — so I can work with a family almost anywhere. I travel to you, or you to me, with follow-up virtually.
Every family is different: some young adults move quickly; others need steady work over weeks or months before we taper off. I stay in close touch — often daily check-ins early on — because that closeness is part of what makes it work.
No price tag here on purpose. Every family’s different — we’ll figure out what makes sense together on a free conversation.
If you’re weighing sending your child away, my program can be the basis of a great alternative — one that keeps your child at home, heals the family together, and costs far less. We can talk through whether it’s the right fit for you.
A few starting points from the resource library — the signs to watch for, a quick self-check, and what help really costs.
A free, relaxed conversation about your family — just a chance to see if I’m the right fit, and to put a doable path in front of you.
